Default [Resolved] Green Screen Video, help!

So I updated my nVidia graphics card drivers at the suggestion of a game I was installing. After the new drivers were installed, many of my videos won't play, as well as videos I try to stream over the internet. All I get is a green screen and the video audio. I've tried playing the videos in my divx player and the same thing happens. I uninstalled all my codecs and reinstalled them, getting the latest Divx and Xvid, but still the same problem. Finally I tried uninstalling and reinstalling my nVidia drivers. While the drivers were uninstalled, I tried playing a problematic video and it worked fine! After I finished the reinstall, the same problem came back. I looked on nVidia's website, but it was pretty useless.

Any suggestions?

Oh, I have an GeForce n7800 GTX extreme.

Hi adigiorgio.

Most green screens on video players just mean you don't have the right codec installed. Although you've done the right thing by getting the latest divx and xvid, these are not the only 2 codecs used, and many people are using many different ones these days.

I currently use a program that doesn't require codecs, but it's...awkward...to use. If you wish to try it, i'll supply a link. But if not, you can download this codec pack which has many many codecs that are extremely useful (i used to use it all the time) www.sldcodec.net

there's a bit "DOWNLOAD NOW" button

I installed that codec pack and still nothing. I also tried playing a DVD and it was green too. nVidia really messed something up here....

I also just tried installing nVidia's purevideo decoder. That didn't solve anything.

I don't think it's the absence of any decoder that is causing the trouble because I was able to get video playback before I reinstalled the drivers. I'm really frustrated here.
