The motherboard i bought last week supports both agp & pci express. So ive removed the new pci card that i was having problems with & ive put in my old geforce4 Ti 4200 128mb AGP8X & this works fine with no problems....it just doesnt run battlefield 2 lol.

So i guess that probably means its a faulty card??:undecided

If it is a faulty card then i shouldnt have a problem getting a replacement from the shop i got it from.

Yup , thats what i was thinking , but i thought you already tried that and it didn't work:

There was a problem with card. I took it back & got a replacement. I put it in & it recognised it straight away. Everything works fine now. :smiley:

Sorry for the delay in responding but ive been hooked on battlefield. :cheesy:

What do you mean you could not run BF2, is that video card a requirement? Or did you just want it to run smooth

Well , sounds like his old card just wasn't good enough (don't know what that was) , so he upgraded it.
And his new card was damaged , so that couldn't play it either and needed to be replaced.

But an 6600gt is not an specific requirement to run the game , although you do need a pretty good video card to be able to play it.


SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
  • Windows XP (32-bit) with Admin rights
  • 1.7 GHz Intel Celeron D / Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon XP/ Sempron or greater
  • 512 MB of RAM or more
  • 8x or faster CD/DVD drive
  • 2.3 GB free hard drive space or more
  • Video: DirectX 9.0c compatible (see video)
  • Sound: DirectX 9.0c compatible (Sound Blaster X-Fi series recommended )
VIDEO
Video card must have 128 MB or more memory and one of the following chipsets:
  • NVIDIA GeForce FX 5700 or greater
  • ATI Radeon 8500 or greater
And those are just barely able to play it. (if infact the are at all)
