hello, i got a new ATI redeon 9550 256MB Sapphire video card and i have several questions as this is my first time intalling a video myself:

1. I put the card in the AGP slot and connected my monitor to it and turned the computer on and installed the CD and restarted and went in my device manager to check and see if the card is the defualt graphic adapter (becuase i had intergraded graphics) and under display adapter it said redeon 9550 and redeon 9550 secondary and it didnt have the old SiS 650 anymore...does this mean that the ATI is the defualt or do i have to disable the intergraded graphic to free memory and speed? if yes please tell me how im NOOB

2.The software installed is catalyst and hydravision and i was wondering what to do with them to get the best speed and quility from my card.

3.should i update the drivers and how do i do that? just go to ATI site? i did and all they had was another version of catalyst is that right?

4.How can i determine the temperature of the card so i dont overload it?

5. What is overclocking and how do i do it and how does it help?

if your onboard grphics does not show up under device manager then it is disabled. But to double check reboot, press either F1 or esc to get into yuor Bios, and go to advanced management, and see if it say's main source for video is AGP..

The software is hydravision, the drivers are the catalyst.

yes it says main source is AGP (it has AGP or PCI)
these overclocking, etc. programs dont interfear with the drivers do they?

no they do not...but only overclock that card a little bit..

ok...how do you overclock though? and what does it mean...i have downloaded redlinker from the recommendations you gave.
