Default [Partially Answered] Crashing & Freezing!! (Overheating maybe?)

When I had my old graphics card, the fan stopped turning on it, causing my PC to crash. I replaced it and all was back to normal.

Now with my new graphics card, the problem is back, but this one dosnt use a fan, only a heat sink. I placed a fan myself on the heat sink to keep it extra cool, but still the same problem.

Any help??? By the way my PC has no system fan, just a power supply fan, CPU fan, and the one i put on the graphics card. Could this make it overheat (it does crash alot when I play Halo!!)???

Hi Master J.

Let me first start by saying I understand this is an extremely old question - and i apologise for the fact that noone has replied to your question previously.

Now onto the matter. If this is still an issue for you then yes - it could very well be an overheating issue.

If you per-chance read this post, and the problem is still plauging you, can you please post the error message you receive - as i'm assuming it would be a BSOD with a 0x0000000 error type message and should also provide a driver file that is causing the error.

I will mark this as 'Partially Answered' for now, if you do read this thread again, please let me know what the status of the situation is. Thanks.
