Default [Information/ Pending] Do I have an AGP or not?

My graphics card uses an AGP bus. However when I go to its properties in Device Manager in Control Panel, its says that its on a PCI. Does the computer have it wrong? Maybe it has has been on a PCI all along, slowing its performance!

Im not sure if my system even has an AGP port. My motherboard is a VT8366-8233
Anyone know if it does?

You mean on the "general" tab , after "location"? like this , PCI bus 1, device 0, function 0?

That would be correct , afaik an agp bus is an "enhanced pci" bus that has been given a new name in the past.

And what is the brand of the motherboard?

Im not sure of the brand, i think its VIA??? :|

Yea, thats what it says. So.......it is/ could well be on an AGP, just the computer calls it a PCI?

I have something called a VIA CPU to AGP controller in my system devices, but no actual AGP device.

Can you tell the difference by looking at the ports when i open up the case?

If you have an VIA CPU to AGP controller then you should also have an agp bus , and yes you would be able to see the difference.
Normally an agp bus is brown and a pci bus is normally white.

Then you probebly dont have agp bus.
Are they all in one straight row or is one of them out of line? (like the brown one in the pic)

If it is a newer board it could pci express. but you would need to run somthing like belarc or everest and post the results as I see everest is not in my sig anymore, will get it back up there
