From Control Panel > Add Remove Program window I see the following Java related SW:
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.9 Update 11, 10, 9, 6, 5
And
Java(TM) 6 Update 17, 13, 7, 5, 3, 2,
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 6 Update 1
Do I need to keep all of these old revisions? If so, why? Are the down ref versions just leftovers from autoupdates? Are they necessary.
Can I safely remove all but:
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.9 Update 11 and Java(TM) 6 Update 17 ?
Should I also keep Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 6 Update 1 ?

Well I always find that Java 6 Update X always deletes the previous version but I see no reason why you can't dump all but the latest versions.

@ Wolfey,
Wouldn't running JavaRa do the trick for removing all obsolete Java entries?

Thanks for the input folks. I un-installed all of the old java versions without incident. Simple case of asking first before doing the obvious.
Cleared over a gig on the hard drive. |
