Because of problem with a Windows Automatic Update (which I have now disabled), I have had to reinstall all my software. I am having a problem with WinRar. Prior to all these problems, when i downloaded something, WinRar gave my the option of saving it and saving it to a certain folder(of my choice). I am no longer getting this option. Even when it says to save the file, it does not give me th options that I had before. How do I get this option back?
I am using Windows XP Home with service pack 3.
Thanks

Open winrar and then click on options and then on settings and go to the integration tab and check the integrate WinRAR in to shell check box. Next, click on context menu items and make sure the ones you want listed when you right click on a rar file are checked.

Sorry, that didn't help. I have checked everything off as you suggested and it still did not give me an option as to where to unzip the files. Once I click on the file I do get the option, but I used to get it once I selected a file to download. Hope that doesn't confuse you.

Have you tried 7Zip Gary, in my opinion it's a lot better.

No, I can't say I have. Being a real "noob" when it comes to this stuff, would be it easier to use and give me similar option such as WinRar does?

Well for a start it's open source so therefore free unlike Winrar.
You can unzip rar files with it etc. It's a lot smaller in file size at 1MB Have a look for yourself mate. 7-Zip
