I have just formatted my p.c and have lost the sound.iv installed the drives that came with the p.c on a disc (m2v series asus) but its not activating any sound.all other drivers have worked fine.i think the audio device i have on the cd is realtek.my computer spec is below any help would be very much appreciated.cheers

Find the sound CoDec in your Device Manager and uninstall it. Then restart your PC and see if Windows will re-install it properly

under sound,video and game controllers i have audio codec but i have no option 2 delete/uninstall?

You should have if you right click on it....

all i get is

update driver

scan for hardware changes
