Can anyone suggest which of the many free Remote Access programs/software/sites out there is the most reliable and secure.

I have a relative who keeps asking for help when he messes up, and it would be more convenient to assist in this way as he lives some 40 miles away.

I've tried LogmeIn which my relative is having problems with.

My vote still goes to LogmeIn.

Change your relative.

I use both and like them for different reasons.

Teamviewer will get you onto a computer not already hooked up with Logmein, or to do one off remote work quickly.

Logmein is reliable and useful if the client computer trusts you - you can hook up at any time as long as the PC is switched on - no client operator needed.

Often using Teamviewer to get Logmein installed and running works well
