Question "smart" zip program?

Hello!

Does anyone know if there is a zip program out there that on a batch unzip will detect if the zipped files are already in a folder or not and put them in one of they are not? I deal with a lot of zip and rar files and some are in folders and some are not when they were zipped. I find I have to unzip each one seperately to determine if its in a folder or not. I'd love to do a batch process where it would automatically put the files into a folder if they were not in one and just unzip those that already are in a folder.

Thanks so much!
Nancy

I'm pretty sure 7-zip does this, I know when I unzip a file it goes into a folder.

There is a command line version available as well...

7-Zip

Thank you so much. I'll check out the 7-zip in the meantime and see if it will do what I need. It's the batch file thats the problem.. having it detect which zip file is in a folder and which is not and adjust accordingly for each one.

Appreciate the help!
