Hello all,
I'm back once again to pick some brains... Here's what I'm looking for... I'm trying to find some software that will allow me to create a "bootmenu/installation menu" on a USB drive. I've used something similar int he past for cd/dvd's but didn't know if there was a way to do it with a USB drive.
Just to make sure I'm clear on what I'm asking, here is a description of why I'm looking for this:
In our disaster recovery box for my company I work for, we have many, many different cd/dvd's that we would take to an offsite location and start installing onto DR servers in the case of a disaster. What I would like to do is to have a USB drive (or few) that had all the software on them, most likely in .iso format that I could insert into the server and boot to the USB drive and select what iso I wanted to boot to the machine, rather than having to tote around all the cd/dvd's... As well as a boot menu, it would be nice to also be able to launch the USB drive from within Windows and have a menu to select what applications to install on the machine...
If anyone knows of a relatively easy way to do this, if possible, I'm all ears!!
Thanks in advance,
Scott

Thanks for the replies, those are two applications I haven't seen yet while doing my own searching, in regards to them:
vger, This utility seems like it would work great if someone was just wanting to create a "boot disk" to get to the c: prompt, however it doesn't really do what I'm looking for as far as it booting to a menu with the different installations available on the usb drive... Arctos, This looks like it would work out nicely for once the system is up and running to use to install all the "secondary" applications... Thanks to both of you... Hopefully there is something out there that will do the booting option that someone knows about... |

I think most applications have an install switch from the command line, you should be able to work something around that. However, I think that trying to install more than one app at time, could get confusing as if another app want to restart before the other (s) finish...

I kept an eye on this thread.
Now I think I need to clarify something: Do you need a menu to run applications from a USB stick from within windows? I was under the impression that you want a bootable USB stick, that when booted will present you with a menu from which you select some DOS based programs to run.
