Ok i have two computer both the same problem.
One is my desktop and it had a virus so last nite i formatted the hard drvie and reinstalled windows xp so its like brand new.
The other is my Sony Vaio laptop.
Both of the wont download anything off the internet. It doesnt matter if you use Explorer or Firefox. The download will start go for a little while and freeze.
I have DSL internet with a Belkin N router. I run my laptop wireless and my desktop is hardwaired to the router. I think it is problems with the router because it used to work good. My dads laptop works good and dowloads great it is wireless on the same network so. I thought at first a windows error or virus but its dosnt work on my desktop and it just had windows reinstalled on it. How can i fix this??

Do the downloads stop at the same point each time?
Have you checked your firewall to make sure that the browsers are not blocked? How are you connected to the router? If wireless, try connecting an ethernet cable to test.

No they all stop at different times and i am wireless on the laptop but the desktop is wired to the router. If i unhook my router and wire my computer straight to the modem it works. Thats what makes me think its the router

Do you have other intermittent connectivity issues whilst browsing or (if relevant) playing online games?
