Default Blinking Line

Hi Guys,

I am a new member and thx for taking me on board, boy do i need some help.

Ok where do i start.

A while ago a friend of mine came round and showed me his new OS windows 7.

I asked him if he could put it on my pc and so he did (DOPE!), it then expired on June 30 or something, before that spoke to him and he gave me a program 'timer nuke'to sort this out.

I then did that rebooted and it was fine, my pc then decided to start shutting down at random times evry couple of hours or so last night i put the verified windows vista original back in the drive and reinstall windows.(hoping this would sort the problem out)

I went to bed while installing, all i can think went wrong was it just shut down again during install.

Since then i turned it back on, i then booted of the cd to try reinstall windows again and then i got an MSCd001 message about drivers and a:\
????

I tried to boot again and now its just blinking little white line in the top left corner no matter what i do??

I can still enter setup with the F2 option and use the F12 to choose boot device. but either choice i get the BLINKER!?

Any help would be apreciated. i have multiple boot dvds: Ubuntu, Linux Mint 7 and windows Vista..

Thanks guys.

Woops,

Lenovo Y530 ideapad is the computer i think its the new IBm??

Optiarc DVD rw AD-7640s
2g ram
320g hd
umm and not a bad graphics card.(not sure wat it is?)

the guy who originally gave me windows 7 is in europe travelling atm. so im stuck
