Hi ppl, I have a weird problem here. I tried recording myself playing the guitar by leaning the PC mic onto the guitar amp and hearing the metronome through headphones but the thing is anything and everything that is played on the desktop would be recorded as well. I tried muting the system's master volume control and yet the sounds playing on the PC is recorded.
Could this issue be rectified?
Incase you're wondering, I'm using a software called Acoustica Mixcraft to do my recording.

Are you doing this as outlined in the manual:
Recording Source If you are in Wave mode and are recording from your sound card's CD, microphone or line-in, you'll need to select the correct recording source and recording level. You can do this by clicking the Arm arrow, selecting your sound device, followed by clicking Stereo Source. Choose the source that you'd like to record from. Adjust the track's red recording level slider to an appropriate recording volume. How To Record Audio (Mixcraft 4)
