still can't download anything
ie explorer, firefox (which i deleted thinking i could reinstall) will not download anything. The download runs, but any apps, updates, browsers etc. are knowhere to be seen. I can not download the PreWork for this site either . . . . does anyone here have any idea of what I can do to fix this??????

Hello & welcome
As you can't download anything, try this: RUN>cmd (as administrator in Vista) and type: sfc /scannow When you press enter it will check your system and attempt to repair any corrupt files. BTW: System specs and Operating System?

tried that and it says . . . :::: . . . you must be an administrator running a console session in order to use the sfc utility . . . ::::

Ok, can you download everthing from another PC to a USB key and install it on the bad PC?
