I was wondering if it's possible to apply the effects from the Microsoft LifeCam dashboards during a MSN video call. The HELP file says yeah we can but when I'm on MSN and I enter the cam software to apply the effects it says the cam is in use in another program.
I have the Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000

Hey there welcome back to PCHF.
I'm just wondering, I know you've installed the webcam on your pc but have you configured it for use with Msn? In Msn click Tools, and then click Audio/Video Tuning Wizard. Click Next to start the wizard. Follow through all the menus and your webcam should then be configured for Msn use and not come up with the "cam is in use by another program" error. Let me know how it works. Bugsey

Yep done that before.
When I use the cam on MSN it works fine! But I just want to apply the webcam effects while in a video call, which the cam manual says is possible. However, while the cam is running in MSN, and I wanna go to the cam software to apply the effects, I can't, cause the cam software says: the cam is in use in another program (Which is MSN) |

Tony,
If I read this correctly, you won't use the LifeCam software to apply the effects. It should be done from the LifeCam Dashboard within Live. LifeCam Dashboard Add special effects and control your webcam—all from the Windows Live Messenger window LifeCam VX-3000
