Tony,
Not the same model as yours, but interesting documentation Microsoft LifeCam VX-6000 Review I'm still trying to locate the LifeCam add-in for the Dashboard. Perhaps it's an optional install from your CD? EDIT: is there a Tools -> Options that maybe Dashboard's add-in is there? I'm sorry, I've got a Logitech webcam so am shooting in the dark a bit

I've found this for LifeCam. Is this the version you are running? Download Microsoft LifeCam Series Driver 1.4 WHQL Driver for Windows Vista - Softpedia Please notice that LifeCam is a part of this installation.
