Hi All
First time on this site and not sure if this is the right section for my problem, so appologies if its not.
I have downloaded a movie file which is 95 meg. When i come to extract the file from win RAR, it gets part way through and then stops and gives a message to load disc as " the required volume is absent. However I have 23 gig of free space on my hard drive. This problem has occured on three different downloads of around the same size. I have no problems with smaller files.
Is there a setting somewhere which restricts the size of download.
I have windows xp.
Thanks in advance

Hi there and welcome to PC Help Forum
I am sure you're going to enjoy your visits here! I don't believe this is a problem with your PC, more with the files you are trying to un-pack. Some RAR files can be parts of multi-volume sequences. In WinRAR you can split a huge archive to a few smaller files, which are called volumes. They may have extensions .rar (the first volume), .part1.rar, part2.rar ... (the next volumes). Another older extension based naming scheme is, where the first volume file in a multi-volume set has the extension .rar and following volumes are numbered from .r00 to .r99. When you have to deal with volumes, you need to collect all required volumes in the same folder and start extraction from .rar or part1.rar volume. So if you get an error like "The required volume is absent" when trying to unpack a file, then you need to search for the rest of the volumes.
