I have a similar problem....I have the password but mine is on a Tablet PC - no keyboard. I contacted the manufacturer of Omnipass and they told me it cannot be removed as it is in BIOS. I am sure there is a way but they won't tell me for security reasons. If a user forgets his password, then his computer becomes an expensive paperweight.....can Omnipass be that daft ?

Hello & Welcome to PCHF Oggie,

Omnipass Encryption software, right? I'm sorry, but if you don't have your password then a format is in order. The purpose of encryption software is to keep data safe from theft. It is assumed (an awful word) that the data owner would assign a password that would not be forgotten.

Did you by any chance export your profile to disk as Omnipass directs in their manual? http://www.123id.us/wp_html/pdf/Omni...de%204.2.5.pdf

If you are reading this then you are taking steps to safeguard your
information. You will probably start encrypting your files with OmniPass soon
(if you haven’t already). IMMEDIATELY export your current user profile (the
one you have used and are going to use to encrypt) and save it on
SEVERAL floppy disks and perhaps some places on your hard disk. Email it
to yourself and save it in your Inbox.
If your system crashes (or you mistakenly remove or overwrite OmniPass),
and you do not have the OmniPass user profile that encrypted all you
archived data files, THEN YOU WILL LOSE THAT DATA.
Creating another OmniPass user with the same name and password and
settings will not do. It will not be the same as the user profile originally

created and with which you encrypted your files.
