Hello I have a question please!
When I start a video call on Skype, everything works fine for a few seconds, minutes sometimes but then the call ends by itself! And it takes a few seconds before I'm able to start another one... This is frustrating.
I'm using Windows Vista, so is the person I'm calling. We both have the same Skype version which is 4.0
HELP!!!!!

Hey there Tonyme...
One of the things that I have seen affect a Skype call, whether it is just voice or video, is connection rate. Your system may handle it well enough, as well as your friends', but if the information isn't being transmitted and/or received quickly enough, Skype doesn't seem to know what to do.. hence your system suffers because it tries to compensate. Something has to give.. and in any connection, the slowest one you are on is always the one that loses. Strangely enough, where Skype might fail for me, Yahoo works just fine.. Voice and video. I use it all the time across the country from where I am on the West coast. You may have a very 'speedy' connection rate, but what is the actual throughput? Check into Speedtest to see what you are really getting. Keep in mind this is a diagnostic only.. don't take it for the last word on things. If either of you have a lot of other programs running in the background while making these calls? That will do it and quickly.. uses up all your available RAM. Just a few thoughts.. sorry if I rambled ![]() |

Ctrl>Alt>delete all at once.. pick which tab you want to look at.. it will show you the processes and programs running.. if you are over 100? You got toooo much goin on! That's only a personal opinion.. I've seen higher that run fine..just depends on how you use the system. Keep Da Rulez in mind, please./ If not.. then you have to look at the possibilty that you got a bug.. You know the procedure there.. use the Prework link in my sig.. and UPDATE MBAM before you run it.. the updates are fast and furious. Let us know... |
