But after I tried it, I think I'll use foobar 2000 because it has an advantage over media player classic as regards ape files:

• Both can run the ape file directly, but as one piece, i.e., without the ability to jump between the tracks.
• Foobar 2000, on the other hand, can run the cue file, so that it becomes possible to play a certain track. Media player classic can't accomplish the later task.

So I think I'll reserve foobar 2000 for ape files only, and use my favourite media player classic for other types of media files.
