Hi a freind and I ordered parts from ebuyer and built a computer. Windows 7 was installed as the OS. After a week, the hard drive corrupted for an unkown reason. A new one arrived but things where going wrong, i figured this had to be because of the OS, its still new and proabably creating certain problems. For instance a game i tried 2 install... wld just not open when i clicked it (after installation) The back USB ports cannot have USB's in there when the computer starts or the operating sytem is not detected. So i decided to go Vista, this was a problem, when installed, the comp required internet 2 install updates, problem is my wireless adapter was mysteriously corrupted randomly when i was using windows 7. So now i cant install drives on vista at all cause i cant acess 2 the internet, I tried connnectting boradband wires directly to the back of comp but the comps just does not detect. IF ANY1 CAN HELP ME ATT ALL WITH ANY OF THE PROBLEMS PLEASE PLEASE HELP. THANKKSS

Hi and welcome to PCHF
Did you delete the existing hard drive partition before installing the OS? If you didn't then it's a dead cert that it could and should resolve the majority of the issues you are facing. A completely clean start, both with the hard drive and then with a freshly "laid" Operating System will give you a solid base to begin again.

I'm going to suggest another clean start - something is really messed up there. It'll be worth the effort if it works.

2nd time: Windows 7 again reinstalled and ran, werid security programs and windows firewalls some how messed up wirless adapter whena security scan was undergoing. Also noticed that ports being used @ rear end make the os unreadable when starting. Also when unreal torunment 3 was installed, it would not open thereafter.Decided to forget this OS, creates too many problems 3rd time: Vista was installed, but currently stuck as no internet can be picked up form wireless ( corrupted) LAN card (wont work till updates) and direct connection to modern, (which is not detected evn though wire is directly inserted into port). ALL TIMES comp was reformated ![]()
