If you feel you're not getting the most out of it for your needs, then you should most definitely consider whether it's time for an upgrade.
me too, I don't use it for games or so, just for working on the internet and typing. but what makes me think of that is my new flat monitor, it flickers from time time.

I have a similar problem with my new monitor, except that the screen changes colours from time to time. I suspected that I was going to have to return it as faulty, but I'm going to try replacing the cable first as it's definitely an issue with the VGA connection.

Do you have another monitor you can test it with? It could be a loose cable as well so check the connections to both the monitor and the back of the PC. I also suggest fiddling around with the cable to see if the screen flickers when you do that; I have to keep whiggling mine about now and again just to change the colour back to normal (it's extremely irritating).

I had a CRT monitor, and I used to work with it for more than 2 years without any problem. the problem occurred only after using the new flat monitor.
I will check the VGA cable, anyway

do you think the loudspeaker could cause this problem?!
because, they are in the sides of the monitor.

They're built into the side of the monitor? I doubt that's the cause of your screen flickering, my guess is it's either the monitor itself, or driver/software related.

Which graphics drivers do you currently have installed?

for the loudspeaker they're not a part of the monitor, they're seperated. but I just put them next to the sides of the monitor.

the graphics driver I'm using is NVIDIA Vanta/Vanta LT (Microsoft Corporation) 5.6.7.3.

since I've tried every possible solutions, it's more likely the monitor itself as you mentioned.

Try temporarily disconnecting your speakers just to make sure they're not causing any interference with the monitor.
