Hi,

I have been tring to install a USB based internet device to my ACER laptop but it keeps sending this:

System.AccessViolationException: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.
at VMC.ConnectionServicesInterface.Request.EndInvoke( )
at VMC.ConnectionServicesInterface.RemotingServer.Sig nal(OpCode operation, Int64 tickCount)
at VMC.UI.MobileConnect.Program.StartInvisiblePart()
at VMC.UI.MobileConnect.Program.Main(String[] args)

Program error!

I have tried installing it in another PC and it works.

Can someone help me please.

Running this device successfully on another PC would indicate that there really is an issue with your Acer.

Please try running Memtest from my signature and see what that tells you.

Other memory may also indicate a VM issue.

Let us know what you find with Memtest.

What was the problem downloading the Memtest?

Hi again,

After I downloaded it and once it was unzipped it didn't run. It only listed all teh files but there was no .exe or icon. I also checked in All programs and it wasn't listed.

So there was no way I could run it.

What else can I do?

Ok you will need to burn the unzipped file as a ISO,and then make sure your cd/dvd is the first boot,and let the memtest run from there...
