hi i have the following on my computer super anti-spyware, spybot search and destroy, malwarebytes and avast anti-virus all free editions, i have seen reviews on BitDefender Total Security 2009 and have been thinking of replacing all of the previous software with BitDefender Total Security 2009, can you please give me your advice please.

Never heard of super antispyware. But yes malwarebytes, spybot, and avast are all very good programs that should keep your computer clean.
Another nice free antivirus program is Avira Antivir which is more user friendly than avast, but i think avast is a bit more thorough as far as scanning. |

hi what i mean't to say was i was thinking of replacing everything with just one application which would be able to update itself and also scan iself what do you think. are the free products just as good as the paid ones.

hmm im not really aware of a single program that cleans everything as well as multiple programs would, in my opinion at least. I personally like to scan with a couple different antispyware/malware programs, and then do a good scan with an anitvirus scanner because they seem to catch more things than a single scanner would.
P.S. as far as firewalls go if you are behind a router you shouldnt really have to worry about those, because a router is basically a firewall in itself. |
