This started about 2 weeks ago, I did a system restore which fixed the problem for a few days and now its happening again.

Pc starts up:

if I start listening to music, surf the net etc or playing a game after about 1 hour or after some period of time I start to see visual glitches on my screen which get worse and 5 minutes after most of my screen on my desktop is filled with little red dots and in game a lot of flashing red dots, and with Window music player also glitches of red blobs and the screen gets more and more red dots until it just stops, everything on screen freezes with red dots everywhere and i have to restart my pc. If I do a system restore then the problem goes away for a few days and comes back.


Any idea what is causing this ??

Also sometimes before the red dots appear my screen does this weird thing where if i open a file or click on someting on a webpage or do anything that makes the image on my screen change the screen will flash to black and then show the new image.



Sorry if this is in the wrong place, but the problem appears in games, on my desktop programs etc so i didnt know where to put this thread, it could also be a hardware problem I just nee some advice, thanks

This sounds like a graphics card heat issue. Let's investigate that first...

Download GPU-Z from here: techPowerUp! :: Downloads and click on the sensors tab. Run the PC for 10 - 15 minutes or until you start to see the glitches and post back with your graphics card temperature as displayed in that program.
