So i can boot the CD up and Choose to install it onto the E drive

Basically, i curently have xp installed on my Local Disk C, i creted a partition calle Local Disc 2 E, And i want to install XP on The E: drive, is it possible to install it on to the E: drive while im Operating using the C: drive??
So i can boot the CD up and Choose to install it onto the E drive ? ![]() Thanks ![]() ![]()

Sure.. that's possible - All you gotta' do is install Windows as you normally would however this time around point it to the E: drive instead. When your PC restarts and on each subsequent boot thereafter you'll be presented with a menu displaying two options: Windows XP and.. Windows XP.

So i can just boot up the CD and click New install or whatever:S
i was just makkng sure case it wiped my C: Drive Sure?? Thanks Dude |

Is the partition formatted for NTFS? If so, I don't see why not

Just dont format C by accident, and dont install XP over whatever you have there by accident and you'll be ok

YYeh, but how can i do it Can some on post main stesps or sometihng??
I have the CD and teh Partition, do i load the cd, click install ad point it to E i dont wannn lose all my Data

As the computer boots up hit F8 to access the boot menu. Then select CD/DVD ROM drive. This will boot from the install CD and allow you to install XP on the E partition
