Usually computers now come without recovery CDs. In place of the CDs there is a recovery partition on your HDD. If you do have this then there should be something in System Tools I believe to create recovery CDs on your own. I know my laptop passes through a recovery screen on boot and I can hit F3 or something to recover without CDs.

This is an option:

HP and Compaq Desktop PCs- Creating the Recovery Disc Set in Windows XP

Or logon to your computer and do a "Sytem Restore".

Or as your machine has become slow:

Please click this:Prework

Follow the instructions then copy and paste the results of Hijackthis and Malwarebytes back here on your thread.

I will then move your thread to the NEW Hijackthis Section in readyness for our excellent Security Team to help you further and give you any fixes that are required.

If you have trouble connecting to the internet or downloading the software then you can use another computer.

Download and save the software files to the computer, then copy the software to a CD/DVD,floppy disk,USB pen drive or even an external hard drive. You can then transfer the software to the problem computer.

You can also run in safe mode with networking if needs be.Restart the computer and repeatedly tap F8 and choose safe mode with networking.

If you need further help please feel free to ask.

Marked as "Open" to receive further help.

Good morning, Chester!

I will watch for your logs.

Please DO UPDATE Malwarebytes PRIOR to selecting a FULL scan. I would appreciate the MBAM logs BEFORE you pull the HJT scan.

Thanks!

HP drivers - they have an automatic detection or you can search by model numbers.
