Default WebCamDV Eval. Copy with my Logitech cam?

I purchased a Logitech quickcam for notebooks and when I installed the software from the disc the installation wouldn't complete, so I just downloaded it off of Logitech's website. I'm now being told that I only have an evaluation copy of WebCamDV which is apparently what I need to process the video and use the feed in applications.

Are there any ways around this? whenever I try to click "purchase" to insert my key it says a driver is missing so I can't do that. Are there any good freeware programs that will do what I need?

Any help would be apprecated. Thank you

Hello noah and welcome back.

What happened isn't uncommon.

The download you pulled is an eval copy. I gather that you have, from when you purchased the full version, a copy, whether it be online or in snail mail, the key-code.

If so, try an uninstall of the eval version.. full reboot, then a new try on the disc vers. It would be a good idea to run CCleaner from the link in my signature before you try the new install.

I hope this helps some.

Thanks for your patience

I can't even manage to uninstall the Logitech software (windows installer freezes at the "preparing to remove" screen) and when I tried to re-install the software from the CD the CD still just stops spinning about 3/4 of the way through and won't install anymore.

One thing I need to know is what OS you are running...

Then we shall go thru the rest, ok?

@ Ian.. thank you... say that again when this is all fixed

I have had a look for that WebCamDV software on Logitech's website and could only find their Quickcam software.

Here's the link to the QuickCam E3500 software, and as with all of Logitech's software does not need registering...
