Hey all,, I been surfing around in PCHF and came across this thread

Sticky: [Information] 12 Things to turn off in Vista
Hengis

and did a few of the things in here and went to a couple of links from here and now Mozilla is rocket fast and any place I go to while using Mozilla is burning fast,,, BUT,, ,, IE8 is still a little slow,, takes 20 seconds now for it to boot up and then any place I go to while using it takes 10 ~ 20 seconds. I still like IE as it is all I have ever used and until I can get my favorites to go from IE to Mozilla I am kinda stuck with IE ,, I am still looking through the forums to see what I can find. Once I get this problem taken care of then I will go to the other XP computer and see what I can find to help me with those issues,,,

mean time any quick fixes or links I can go to to get IE on this Vista computer to get back on speed?

Thanks again ,, Rich
btw,, just made that donation since I got my IRS check today

Did you try what I suggested and saving the exported bookmarks from Internet Explorer to your desktop or another folder.

Then when you import into firefox as per the instructions above you can just select the bookmarks file from there.

Otherwise make a note of Internet Explorer is saving the file and browse to that folder when importing into Firefox.

Nope it didn't work, I tried it 4 times including, removing Mozilla and re-installing it twice. I had saved the favorities from IE to the desk top. When it didn't work I went to the desk top and clicked on that folder and it gave me a bunch of things I don't understand. If I knew how to put a screen shot in here I would do that so you could see what I am saying...

So on your desktop you have a file called bookmark.htm? But Firefox won't import it and can't see it.

In Firefox are you clicking Import html and leaving it set at from a html file on the next screen.

If you are changing it to Internet Explorer it won't work or see the file on the desktop.

You are so wonderful,, thank you,, thank you,, I got it, yeeeaa

You can close this out now, I will open a new thread to get step by step on burning to a CD-R all of my pictures, Gif's, Jpeg's and etc, I have about 90gig's of stuff and am not sure how to get them seperated so I can burn them to the CD-R without over running the 750MB for each disk that it will take,, as I want to go ahead and bring this Vista Home computer back to when it was new ,, is it called re-formatting? as I have too many problems with booting up too slow, and also IE and Mozilla are still sluggish. Spending to much time waiting for something to come up. That will be another thread,, sorry to be such a pest!!!
