Hello James this would depend on your setup.

Is this error in a dual boot configuration or an error on a single boot setup?

Possibly a repair of the boot.ini using the install disk.

A little more information would help.

Jelly Bean.

jamesbraken, do NOT remove the boot.ini file.
Or, you will be sorry. Take my word for that.

Please paste a copy of the boot.ini file in your reply.
If you don't know how, just ask. JB can help you.

Thanks
