I'm trying to update photoshop elements 7.0 to the available 7.0.1. Once the update instal wizard begins and I accept terms, i get the error "The Adobe Photoshop 7.0.1 update program cannot find Adobe Photoshop 7.0 in C:\Program files\Adobe Photoshop 7.0\. Please attempt to locate Adobe Photoshop 7.0 or cancel the update..."

I can see the Photoshop file in C:\Program files and can even open it from there. So since it is definitely there, why can't the Wizard find it?

Photoshop is located in a default file for Adobe along w/ Adobe Reader 9 folder and Acrobat folder.

What to do?

I have used Photoshop 7.0 for a number of years, and have never bother looking for a update for it.

However I have had a look at the main download page and the following instructions are there in case the problem arises that you have encountered.

Installation Instructions:

After downloading a ".exe" file in Windows, double-click on the ".exe" file to access the file's contents.

To install the Photoshop 7.0.1 update:

1. Disable all virus protection software.
2. Double-click the Setup.exe file.
3. Follow the onscreen instructions. If the updater reports that it cannot find the application to update, please reinstall Photoshop 7.0, then run the updater.
