Default Remote Control of Another PC

OK first off this is in NO way me asking how to hack someone's computer.

I'm asking this because i would like to be able to connect to either computers connected on my network and be able to help the other user while im still at my computer. Or to help my friends if they need help.

I would prefer it to allow me to see what they see, yet be able to control their mouse and key board on their and my own screen. So if i move my mouse to the start button that i see on their screen i want them to be able to see me click it.

And if it is possible i would like to be able to drag documents from my computer onto theirs. Like i downloaded a installer for a anti-virus, and instead of me putting it on a flash drive and physically put it on their pc i would be able to put it on there, install it, and have it start it's virus scan. (this is actually what i wanted to have when i had to do this on a computer on a computer on my network...)

So if you know any programs that are able to do this please let me know! And if this in some way goes against the rules, then you can edit or whatever you want to this post.

Hey there Merlin!

Thanks for clarifying what you are trying to do.

I understand and know how you feel. Therefore, I have no problems in giving you this link knowing it will be used correctly. There really is no choice as this requires permissions and downloads for all systems involved.

If you haven't already found it, VNC is one that I have used to help my Dad out across the country and it worked, even on the relatively slow dial up (AHHH ) systems we had then.

I hope that this helps. Please keep us informed as to your issue!

Ok i've tried testing out VNC but i can't think of what the 'Server' is. I know it's the other computer, but the IP address does not work, so how do i figure out what it is, or am i doint something wrong from the start?

Hey merlin.

It should have just set up on it's own. Let me look at it again.

Might be I missed something..

Nahhh.. that never happens!!

www.logmein.com is free.

You need to download the app to the target PC and have them install it though. Choose LogMeIn Free.

Then you can access it from any web browser. You need to know the website login and the login of an Administrator account on the target PC.

It is the easiest method for remote control there is. VNC just made my head hurt and Remote Desktop was a joke.
