Default Hard Drive Allocation Problem

I built myself a desktop last year and at the time I was going to run Linux as well as windows on the hard drive. I allocated a portion for each. Since then I have decided to increase the amount allocated for windows. I'm having trouble doing that wince I've already installed windows with the smaller portion. IS there a way to format part of the hard drive after installation to appear as a separate hard drive for file storage only or will I be forced to reformat my hard drive completely. Any information will be appreciated.

Default Re: Hard Drive Allocation Problem

Hello and welcome to PCHelpForum.

To repartition a main hard drive as in C: can cause corruption some times to the main operating system.

You need a third party software to repartition your hard drive once windows is installed.

GParted is good:

gparted software downloads and reviews - CNET Downloads
