Bought a Seagate external drive that came bundled with Memeo Auto back up -which it is claimed "works in the background backing up your docs as they are created / updated

It has now been creating error messages --and is not doing "what it says on the tin"

I have contacted them -and the advice is to delete my backup plan and start again
Reading a topic forum I found on the net --it seems I am not alone --and despite several Upgrades --others are experiencing similar difficulties (with similar advice!)

Anyone on here used/ solved problem / had same prob ??

If this is specifically to create an ongoing backup --and cant be relied upon --its not filling me and other users (there must be a fair few as its bundled with another manufacturer`s external HD ) with much confidence

anyone any tips --or the suggestion of a similar reliable product that will carry out a day to day ongoing backup that labels the files the same but for the drive prefix??

I work for myself --and if the backup isnt doing what I want and I have to periodically delete and "start agin" --I`m not a happy bunny!!

You get what you pay for.

If you are using Vista, then it comes with a backup of user files.
As to whether it backup the way you want, I don't know.

Do you require addition assistance with this issue?

I use Second Copy 7.0 to back up my files, it's a easy to use application that has never failed to do what I want.

It's well worth the money what I paid for it...
