Question Speedfan not operating accordingly...

I've vaguely touched on this subject in another thread, but I'll start a specific thread regarding the problem.

When I use speedfan, I'm unable to control every single fan in the system. All of my fans are connected through the mobo via 3pin. I have a total of 5 fans. 3 case fans, 1 cpu fan, and 1 gpu fan (if you would count that as speedfan controllable).

I can control the cpu fan fine. However I can not control one of the case fans at all, and the other two case fans uses the same speed/fan setting on speedfan (Which one is a rear exhaust fan, and the other is a hdd cooler fan)

Here is a screenshot of my speedfan.

speedfan.JPG

As you read

Fan1 = CPU
Fan2 = Case Fan 1* (I'll number them to help distinquish)
Fan3 = N/A
Fan4 = Unknown
Fan5 = Case Fan 2*

The temps that are on the right column I have no idea what they represent (However I do believe the ~80* temp is the gpu, but thats just a guess)

Now, what I'm dying to know is, how do I control my 1 fan that I have no control over now, and how to seperate the 2 fans that are controlled by the same setting?

Thank you.

Speedfan is a great program...
That said-- it is not perfect.
The Developer is constantly trying to modify it to accurately read all sensors-- hence your 82 C reading-- (that is probably wrong)-- the manufacturers of motherboards are constantly changing those sensors.

Some of those fans-- especially case fans-- although fed from 2 different connectors on your mobo-- are probably still on the same circuit on that board--- which is why they react together.

They do make very complex and accurate fan-controllers-- but those are not free...

Thanks for the info and link. Actually before this, I was already considering getting a standalone fan speed controller so I may end up going that route. (lol I may just get a fancy blue led one to go with all the other blue stuff on this box)

Zalman have some excellent fan controllers, which would be more accurate than Speedfan...
