Default General Consensus: XP SP3

Now, I know what my views are. But what do the TechStaff think about Service Pack three? I'm seeing alot of people having trouble with it, and most of the people I know, have had many problems with it, worse than what I see here.

I am just wondering if my opinion of, "dont use SP3" is a viable thing to tell someone here.

Thanks.

I've been rolling it out to the majority of my clients without even a second thought, and we're talking over 2000 computers here.

There are no real changes (to my knowledge) with SP3, all just a roll up of patches since SP2.

That's my experience however, and as most will tell you here, my experiences aren't the same as others...

I see very few issues with SP3 as long as the general rules are followed before you download and install.

Update all software and hardware drivers were needed.
Run antivirus software and make sure your computer is clean.
Empty temp files.
Turn on automatic updates and make sure your computer is fully updated.
In general give the computer a good health check.
I then find SP3 installs with no issues or very minor ones.

I agree with Garhar & Jelly Bean. Never had any issue.

Mind you that's probably the well known "kiss of death" statement.

Not run into any issues running SP3 here But as GarHar has already said below - your experience may differ to the next persons.
