Default Win2k IE6

Does anyone know if there are plugins/addons for IE6? The official MS page has virtually nothing for non-XP users. I found one written for IE5 that works (adds toolbar access to trusted/restricted pages and offline pages), but nothing else. I've tried Firefox, but even the portable version uses more resources than I have available and it is painfully slow. Naturally, with only a 10 GB harddrive, I am constrained to use the native MS programs, though I prefer opensource (usually) because the programs are generally smaller and require less RAM to function properly.
I'm basically trying to get the most out of what I have; I don't expect miracles. I may have it in my budget to get more RAM, but this laptop maxes out at two slots and according to the tech manual, it only accepts up to a total of 512MB.
In any case, I'm keeping win2k for this laptop, so if there's any way I can get more out of it, I'm open to suggestions.

Microsoft had a lot of those addons for IE 5x, but a lot of them did not work on IE6. I did have the link but it is a 404 error page now.

IE Spell will work on IE 6 if you want to try it.

Spell Checker For OE a spell checker for Outlook Express 6.0

If I remember rightly they were not hard on the resources either...

No Offense, but, Internet Explorer is the worst web browser all of time...
Firefox web browser | Faster, more secure, & customizable
Opera Browser | Faster & safer Internet | Free Download

(I use Opera)

No offense taken and I hope you aren't offended, but I've used FF and wasn't impressed. I even tried Ubuntu on this laptop and nearly threw it out the window in frustration. I don't write code and I don't like using an OS that expects me to. With all the daily packages I had to download (as well as the rather large plugins that make FF so customizable) I had half my harddrive full in a month with obsolete code that didn't get automatically replaced.

I haven't used Opera, but the list of opensource programs I have used is pretty long. Some I like, some I hate. Many have (unfortunately) grown into absolute monsters (OpenOffice comes to mind). I'm not a Microsoft purist or representative, but for the average user, MS still provides a decent experience.

P.S. if you look at the trends, as opensource becomes more widely used, it becomes a bigger target for hackers/crackers/and mischievous code gremlins.

P.P.S. By the very use of the phrase *no offense* you have acknowledged some people are offended when others have no useful information to offer than *dump that **** you're using and download what I use!* So why do it?
