Question Itunes is bugging out

Ive had my computer for 2 years and have taken great care of it. I dont download music illegally(or at all for that matter) and recently i bought a external hard drive for my music and movies that i have on my computer. Foolishly i transferred my entire music folder onto this new external and for roughly a month my itunes worked perfectly. Within the past 4 days i havent been able to open my itunes at all with a error message saying (" the folder 'itunes' cannot be found or created. and is required. The default location for this folder is inside the music folder."). I have tried several ways to remedy this problem. I have transferred the whole music file back to my harddrive. deleted and redownloaded itunes. I have a pc running on vista but i also have an ipod and all of my movies are in itunes format( had i been smart at the time i would have converted them differently). Please help

Default Re: Itunes is bugging out

In iTunes have you gone to Edit / Preferences / Advanced, and changed or reset the default folder to where your drives external media folder is?
