I use quite a number of different passwords.
Is there any safe and secure way of storing them ?

KeePass is the best password manager for sure.

And I'd like to add, that if you are interest in maintaining a safe backup of a database, I would also suggest to take a look at an article called "Automatic backup of KeePass database to email".

Here I mean safe, in a sense that an online email provider will always be there and so your backup.

I agree with above, also as portable version KeePass Password Safe Portable | PortableApps.com - Portable software for USB drives
