hello everyone, first post but definately not the last one!!

I am trying to install directxsdvNov2008 as i am having trouble installing a game, it keeps stopping half way through and displayin error code s1023?
I have windows xp and am getting really frustrated!!!

I have some computer knowledge nut not much....anyone help?

Do you mean the game gets stuck half way through or directX?

Ok try a system restore to just before you tried to install DirectX.

Are you trying to download DirectX that requires validation?

Then download this:s1023 - Live Search

Yes and I gave you two diffrent ones to try and download.See if one of them will download and install.

It seems that your DirectX install is now well and truly corrupted. It will need to be removed before you can re-einstall it. Go to the link Jelly Bean gave you for the latest DirectX here and download it.

Go here and get the DirectX Eradicator install and run it. After Eradicator has done it's thing, you should be able to reinstall the DirectX you downloaded with no problems.

Or another way is to go here, and follow the instruction for removing DirectX by editing the registry. The bit you want is down towards the bottom of the page.

If all else fails you might need to do a repair install...
