Ok let me explain the problem…
I`ve always used itunes to manage and play my songs.. but for some reason one day a hole bunch of my songs got screwed, this means that they play too fast, like the chipmunks…
The new songs I got after that are fine, I suspect this problem was due to a virus I had at the time.
I tried playing them with winamp… same thing
This problem has nothing to do with my sound card or my codecs, because not all songs are acting like that, and whenever I transfer those songs to another computer or an mp3 player they don’t work.
Here is the but… those songs can be played normally on windows media player.
Whats causing them to get screwed up in almost every single player except media player….

You could try converting these songs to other formats, and then see if they will play.
A good freeware program for converting is switch You can also play the songs in this program to test if they work. Converting may not work, but it is an option you could try.

Sounds to me like when the other media players get together and throw a party, they don't invite media player.

Have you tried Winamp?

And my soundcard has a feature in control panel which changes the pitch of songs. You may want to look at the settings of your sound card although I don't know how you could get it to be selective. Mine either plays all songs in a certain key or none.

My guess would be its a setting in the media player or maybe the song is not encoded properly. You may want to try a different version of the same song.
