Just bought a new dvd thought I would watch it on the PC - no matter which DVD 'player' i select it refuses to start playing it and just comes up with an error message which says : Application has encountered an error and needs to close...... to see error report click here then i get this report :-

this error report includes : the error report includes info regarding the condition of (whatever programme is used) and goes on and on and on ....

never had it before so does any one have any ideas please ???

Thanks in advance

Hey bud, welcome to PCHF,

So you're saying that your shiny new DVD, when put into your DVD player and opened with a DVD program (like cyberpower or windows media player I assume?) renders in a crash?

I'm going to assume the DVD is clean and new. Do you have a regular DVD player (like for a TV) that you can try it in to make sure the disc works?

Ahh.. that's very interesting.. huh. You keep your computer updated I assume?

You're running Vista or XP?

Can you confirm that you can play other DVDs on the computer?

Ahhhh! If no DVD is able to play on the computer, then you might want to see if you can swap out that DVD drive, do you have a spare one, or one you can take off another computer temporarily just to make it is the drive specifically? (or try the drive in another computer)

Hello there.

Could you let me know if this is fixed/answered/resolved please.

Or do you still require help?

Thankyou.
