Default I see whites as cream?!

Hai Gais

For some reason my image viewing/editing software wants to see whites as a yellowy-cream colour. I have tried playing aroudn with the monitor but I'm sure it's just the software because everything else is alright. Adn for some reason it shows up normal whites as normal if I'm viewig a picture but it's the software itself that is.. cream... I hope you understand. Lemme show you a picture

...

Now those creams should be white... what the hell is wrong?

Hold on.. no.. that's not fair. The picture is showing up as normal on here. So no-one is allowed to see that my computer is displaying cream where there should be white? T______T

....

Maybe this'll help. It only happens with Photoshop and Windows Photo Gallery.

Very strange, the screenshot does show a cream colour for me.

I will put the Open tag on this thread, and see if another member or staffer can help

It's creamy coloured for me as well.

In your graphic card / device control panel, have a look for a section that you adjust the gamma settings.

Going by the creamy colour it looks like it is set on a warm colour temperature (Kelvin) and you need to make it colder (brighten it up).

Adobe Photoshop comes with a great little tool that help you set up your monitors screen, but the one that I have in nVidias cp does a similar job.

Here's a bit about Kelvin at Wikipedia...

Well I've already been playing around with different colour and lighting settings with nVidia CP. Where is this temperature setting in photoshop? I'm at college right now so I can't look around for a few hours.

Go to Start / Control Panel / Adobe Gamma run it and follow the wizard, it's reasonably easy to set up as well...

Huzzah, after about 15mins of tweaking I finally got the colours to what they should be. However, I had to download adobe gamma because it doesn't come with newer versions of Photoshop i.e. CS3 and CS4, which is kinda odd...

Thank you very much
