I am using nLite to create a custom Windows XP install. I slipstreamed SP3 and also some hotfixes and drivers into the installation. The total size of the ISO is about 730MB (more than a CD will hold). The problem is that where I work at most of the computer only have CD-ROMs and not DVD-ROMs, so burning the ISO to a DVD will do no good.
Is there a way to, for lack of a better word, "burn" the ISO image to a hard drive so that I can just boot to that drive to start the custom install? I also want to do this because it will drastically reduce the installation time.
If I cannot directly "burn" the ISO to the hard drive, could I just make the drive bootable, copy the files onto it and then run the install from it like that? Would it still keep the customizations?

Are you trying to install XP from a computer with an OS already on it? As opposed to a completey fresh install on a new computer?
If yes, I know exactly what to do. |

Do you have an external hard drive or a USB drive? If so you could theoretically "burn" the ISO to that and just boot from it.

Hi and welcome to our happy band
Here's an option. If you can get your hands on an "external enclosure" you can connect your DVD drive to it and boot to that. I've used this method myself in the past |

Perhaps this guide, on how to install WinXP from a flash stick can help you.
