I have a Toshiba Satellite A135-S4656. I just started noticing it making a funny noise like a mouse running across the keys. Its been dropped like once and my cellphone has fallen on it before. But not recently. My dad thinks the hard drive is shot.

If you have a master CD, You might be able to use it to do a surface check, Which checks the Hard Disk for bad or scratched sectors.
