Default windows explorer

I can't open my C drive! I have no clue why. Whenever I try to open it, it opens the window that says "which program would you like to open this with" and I don't see a way to open it the way it normally would. I don't know when this started. I've done multiple virus scans so I don't think that's the case. Help please.

Have you tried circumventing the C:/ Drive and just doing a search for a specific file, then opening it?

There is possibly a fix for this here.

Choose the program you want to use to open this file - Tech Support Guy Forums

To Admins and mods, I know it's on another forum but I could not find anything for this problem elsewhere...

Windows XP with the most up to date service pack ( i believe ) and yes, i've been able to access files by things similar to searching for the file. but if I go to "My Computer" and double click Local Disk (C: ) I just get that window to find the program to open it.

I'm going to try the link Arctos provided right now and see how that goes.

Hi I'd try what Arctos said or do a system restore to before you have this issue
