Default Installing IE7

Hi,
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this ...

Well, I've had some problems with IE6, so I tried to install IE7. It didn't install IE7 because it needs the Service Pack 2. I tried to install the Service Pack 2 and it didn't install it and I don't know why ... My friend says that's because I must have a non-original Windows XP.

What can I do?

How did you come about your copy of XP? Is it genuine or not?

In the meantime try a workaround - install Firefox..

I have Firefox, but I do prefer IE.

I asked a professional to install Windows XP on my computer some years ago. He didn't give me any CD or any information. And I'm not good at this, at all, so here's the information provided by MGADT (thanks Jelly Bean) .. You guys are much better than me deciphering this type of things. lol

Unfortunately you have an illegal copy of Windows XP installed. You will need to purchase a genuine copy in order to able to install Service Pack 2 and IE7.
