Default Teamspeak help!!

Ok, I'm trying to get a Teamspeak server going on my computer but I'm having no luck.

The teamspeak forums and instructions are absolutly worthless. I just cant figure it out.

I have the server installed on the computer I just need some instruction on how to set it up so its usable.

Please keep in mind that my eyes glaze over easily. Try to explain it as if you were teaching your 4 year old nephew or your dog. :-P

Log into to the TS Server Admin Console.

Click Servers on the Left > Stop the Team Speak Server that listed > Click Delete > Click Add Server

Type in the name you want for your server. Type in welcome message.
Set server password (if you want one) - people will need to enter this to be able to connect.
Leave all codecs ticked. Leave UDP port 8767. Click Add.

Click Servers on the left again - you will now see your server. Click Start > Click Continue. Your server is now up and running.
You will now see Server Specific Settings on the left. If you want to add specific users > Click User manager. You can change the permissions that the different types of users have in Server Permissions by click the relevant group e.g. registered. I recommend leaving these as they are until you become more familiar with TS.

Now to connect to your server and test it. Do this on the same pc the server is running on.
Open TS Client > Click Connection > Click Connect
Right Click Server > Click Add Server > Type in a name for the connection.
In server address type: 127.0.0.1:8767
Enter a username you want to log on with > Enter the password if you created one.
Click Connect. You should now be connected to your server.

When you get other people to connect to your server they will need to type your external ip address followed by the port number. e.g. 152.45.111.2:8767
If you right click the TS Server icon in the Taskbar you will see Your IP's. Click on this to get your ip.

You may need to setup port forwarding on your router for other people to be able to connect. Please let me know if you want help with doing this.

When I click the administration button it brings up the page but its already set to Superadmin login.

I clicked the admin login button and I get an HTTP 403 error.

When you get the first login screen it will be for superadmin. Type superadmin into the username field and type your superadmin password into the password field. Click Login not admin/client login. If you changed the passwords when you first installed TS Server you need to exit by right clicking the Task Bar icon and selecting exit and then restart it by clicking the TS Server icon on your desktop.

If you still get the error uninstall Team Speak server from Add/Remove Programs, then reinstall it. Make sure you have the latest version. You can get here:

TeamSpeak - Downloads

You need the TeamSpeak 2 Server - it's the 3rd item in the list.

After you've installed it - it will give you your new superadmin and admin passwords. Try logging in again.

If you still get the 403 error - please post back what web browser you are using and also what operating system you are using.

Alright,

I got the server running and I can connect to it. No one has come on yet that can help me test it but till then I have another question or two.

I clicked "Create Channel" and made a lobby. Then I did it again to create another channel and it just renamed the first one. Am I only allowed 1 channel?

Also, I would like to setup the server so that the users profiles have to be set up by an admin. How would I go about doing that?

You need to create a user account in Administration with Server Admin privileges.

Then log into teamspeak using this account. When you create a new channel - put a tick in the Registered and Sub-Channel.

If you want to create sub-channels off existing channels - right click on the channel and select Create Sub-Channel
