Smile Excell cannot be opened with out installing a disk

I have always used outlook express as my email programme, but today, I opened MicroSoft Outlook as I thought I might change. As this was i believe pre-installed in my 2 year old laptop, I updated the programm through the links that are contained within it. Since doing so, I now cannot open my Excel programme, which has worked perfectly until now.

First a Windows Installer box appears, then I am asked to insert the Microsoft Office 200 SR-1 Standard disk and click ok. I don't have this disk, and I don't know why I am having this difficulty. I would be grateful if anyone can help me with this annoying problem.

Many thanks

Johnny

Hi,
I have done this about three times, using dates that were prior to today, ie, yesterday, the day before that, and on Monday this week, yet I still get the same message.

Anyother ideas?

Regards

Johnny
Ps, thanks for your swift reply!

Yes! As far as I am aware it is legal!

I am using Windows XP Home edition. Also, I have tried fruterh attempts at system restore, and each time, it says that my system cannot be restored. Also, now my start menu, when I click on Internet, I get a window appear as when you click on tools, options in internet explorer, and then nothing opens up when i click ok on that!

I have problems here!

Regards

Could you borrow a Office disk off a friend and do a repair?

Or download this:http://www.openoffice.org/
